My Review/Observations of Tall Tales

I'm finally getting this review posted! Thanks for being patient. Hopefully, you'll think it was worth the wait.
Lots of caps this time, 75 in total. Sorry about the poor quality, but TV reception was not the best. I did what I could to improve them. If you want to take any for graphics, feel free. Just be sure to credit me, if you do. :)
Okay, first of all, despite the dissappointment from some fans over this episode, I found it hilarious and a welcome change of pace from all the drama and angst of S2 so far. As much as I love my angsty Winchester brothers, it's nice to be able to step back and watch something fun where one doesn't have to pay close attention to clues about the Yellow-Eyed Demon and Sam's destiny. Much like Hell House in S1, Tall Tales, doesn't take itself very seriously. However, this time, things are even more over the top, which made for a truly rollicking good time. I think another aspect which made it great fun to watch was knowing that it had to have been a blast for the actors during filming.
Two quick notes before I get to my observations. Did anyone else see the actor who played Dr. Hydecker from Something Wicked during Smallville? I was like "Dude! Creepy Striga guy!". LOL And in tonight's ep there was a lot of songs. I mean a lot! Not the normal 2 or even 3. There must have been at least 5, but I didn't really keep count. Can't wait to get the downloads of these!
* This episode's "Then" was as much fun to watch as the one for TUS. We got the pranks from Hell House (although they used new music for the car prank for some reason) and lots of the boys name calling at each other including the classic Jerk/Bitch exchanges. Great stuff!
* I'm not even gonna comment about the opening scene because, seriously, I knew that girl wasn't normal when I first saw her outside in the snow in just a white dress. And besides, this episode is all about the fun stuff, so let's move along to the first scene with the brothers, shall we?
* Another song reused! I can't for the life of me think of which S1 episode it's from, but I definately recognized it right away, because it's one of my favorites.
* I'm just going to get this out of the way now...I loved all the brotherly bickering. It was so amusing. Yeah, we find out later it was just the Trickster messing with them, but you gotta believe some of this really does happen to a lesser degree. They are together all the time and they're bound to have their little spats over stupid things. So it's fun to finally see this side of the brothers - of them just being brothers.

* Did ya notice Jensen doing his hand rubbing thing as Sam starts telling Bobby about the case? I caught it right away!

* Love how we get to see this case told through each of their perspectives. Exaggerated? Yes. But great fun to watch!
* Dude! The little noises we hear coming from Dean as he's downing those Purple Nurples was just *guh*. First there was a sigh, then a sort of grunting moan, and then a "oh yeah". LOL! It was like dirty poetry! *gigglesnort* And "fiesty little wildcat"! And that Zzzzzz sound he makes too, saying he's about to "reel her in". LOL! Loved that! It actually sounds like something Dean would say. Heehee! Major Tom! And my first reaction of Starla? She reminded me of that girl in Devour...Dominque Swain. Maybe it was just the hair...I don't know.

* Then we get Dean's take on this scene...and yowza! This scene had to be written for all of us Dean!Girls. Dean being all sexy and smooth and the girl saying everything any red-blooded female who's ever laid eyes on Jensen Ackles has said or thought a million times! "My God, you are attractive!" LOL! Ain't it the truth! "I'm sorry...I can't even concentrate. It's like staring...into the sun." She is such a fangirl! And then she touches his hair!!!!! *Guh* And then to top it off, they share a smoldering kiss! *thud* Yeah, I'm dead. And then Sam approaches all prissy and bitchy! LMAO! Jared was perfect! It was awesome! "Blah, blah, blah, blah..." LOL! OMG, this episode is going to kill me with laughter! More kissing...pardon me while I swoon. *Sigh* That's one lucky actress. I'm sure Jensen enjoyed that scene too! *wink, wink* ;)

Bobby: Okay. What's going on with you two?
Sam: Nothin'. It's nothing.
Bobby: Ah, come on. You're bickering like an old married couple.
Dean: No, see married couples can get divorced. Me and him, we're like siamese twins.
Sam: It's conjoined twins!
Dean: See what I mean?
Heehee!
* Dean's chipmunk face! That is just unbelievable! How on earth did Jensen get his mouth that stuffed? "Come on! I had one, maybe two!" And then we have the frozen laptop on bustyasianbeauties.com!

* Curtis with his alien abduction story reminded me so much of the X-Files. Heehee! "And they probed me...again and again and again...and then one more time." Dean: "Yikes." LOL!

Curtis: That wasn't even the worst of it.
Dean: How could it get any worse? Some alien made you his bitch.
~ Dean just cracks me up!
Curtis: They...they made me slowdance.
LOL! "Lady In Red" even. This show kills me!

Bobby: You guys are exaggerating again. Huh?
Sam & Dean: No.
I love it when they speak together!
* Another scene that just kills me...even after seeing the DC of it a few days ago - EmoSammy! My God, Kripke's gotta be reading the message boards! "I want you to know, I'm here for you.You brave little soldier. I acknowledge your pain!" And the big bear hug was priceless, as was Dean's reaction (like "not again"). Then at the end Dean pats EmoSam on the shoulder "it's okay". Awwww! Too cute!

Sam: I never said that!
Dean: You're always sayin' pansy stuff like that!
Sam: Dude! You know something? I put up with a lot from you.
Dean: What are talkin' about? I'm a joy to be around.

Dean: What's wrong with my food?
Sam: It's not food anymore Dean, it's Darwinism!
Dean: I like it.

Bobby: Did you take his computer?
Dean: It serves him right, but no.
Sam: Well I didn't lose it. Cause I don't lose things.
Dean: Oh that's right, yeah, cause he's Mr. Perfect.
~ bicker, bicker, bicker...heh.
* Btw, I love how Bobby's become like a father figure for them. Much in the same way Ellen's become the motherly figure in their lives. Bobby's reactions to their escallating disagreements is great.
* Okay, that guy's corpse, or actually what was left of it...to quote Dean was "just nasty". And what's with Sam suddenly being all non-squeamish? In Bloodlust he could barely look at that head of the girl without being nausous and this time he gets his face right down there, practically touching the guy's leg! The "belly scale" just cracks me up, though!
Sam: I'll call Bobby. Maybe he's run into something like this before.
Dean: Oh, I'm sure he has. Just your typical haunted campus, alien abduction, alligator in a sewer gig. Yeah, it's simple.
~ I think that's my favorite DeanLine from the whole ep.
* Someone's gotta count how many times one of Jensen's characters has been in a sewer. The guy's always down there, searching for something. LOL! Poor Jensen...just can't get out of the sewers.
* One sure way to make Dean mad? Mess with his car. Four flat tires mean one angry Dean. And the money clip on the ground points to Sam as the culprit. "Sam!" Heehee! The next scene is another favorite from the DC clips.
Dean: You think this is funny?
Sam: Depends. What?
Dean: Muamuamua. The car!
~ Oh man! Have I mentioned how hilarious this ep is?

Sam: Dean...I have had it up to here with you.
Dean: Yeah? Right back at ya!

* BoyWrestling! On a bed! Okay, it really doesn't matter where it was, it was just fun to watch! Jared is like all arms, isn't he? We also got to see some of Jensen's belly! *gigglesnort* It's like they suddenly reverted back to 5 year olds. Too cute!

* So Bobby finally reveals that they're dealing with a Trickster and that the boys being at each other's throats was the biggest clue. Hee! Loved the boys being totally clueless "I got nothin" "Me neither" and then Dean trying to pretend he knew it all the time. *g*

* It took me a little while to place that music as the Trickster's looking through the Weekly World News. It's the same music used when the boys get into Andy's van in Simon Said.
* Another amusing argument between the boys "aw come on you've been a tight ass long before that Trickster showed up". Heehee! They split up and Dean waits until nightfall before he finally get's tired of waiting for Sam and heads back inside to look for the bad guy.

* OMG it's Barry White! And Dean's just walked into his best fantasy ever because there's a big red bed on a stage and two hot babes just waiting for him.
Sexy Babe: We've been waiting for you, Dean.
Dean: You guys aren't real.
Sexy Babe: Trust me sugar it's going to feel real.
Dean: Teh. *choke*
Heh. Jensen's brilliant here.

* So the Trickster's set all this up as a peace offering because he knows what the boys do and he likes them. Thing is the trick's going to be on him, as Bobby & Sam show up to help Dean stake this guy through the heart. Which seems a little pointless considering Bobby said Tricksters are immortal. Oh well. The fight that ensues is pretty amusing especially with Sam getting attacked by a guy with a chainsaw and Dean getting flung into the big red bed and the auditorium seats by the babes. Dean even does a faceplant into some cleavage. *giggle*

* Dean stabs the Trickster with a stake (tossed to him by Sam, btw) and once again, looks oh so hot killing something. There's gotta be something wrong with that, but I don't know what. :D

* The three hunters get out of the building, with Bobby saying they'd better make tracks before someone finds the body. Then we have a major chick flick moment between the brothers as they stare at each other over the top of the Impala and hem and haw and basically say very little. But the meaning is understood because that's the way guys are and Bobby tells them they're breaking his heart and can they just leave now? Heehee!

* But of course, the Trickster comes back to life (duh! immortal), so maybe we'll see him again. Who knows?
To those who didn't like this episode....lighten up. This was supposed to be a vast departure from the usual SPN fare. It was Hell House on a sugar high and it was fun. I found it to be just as humorous as I thought it would be, so I wasn't let down at all. The only bad thing...we're now stuck with reruns for a month! But reruns can be good. I always enjoy seeing the episodes again...and again, and again...and...okay I'll stop now. It's way better then them sticking someting else on in its place, like more Smallville. Ugh. This way we still get to have our weekly dose of Sam & Dean. Plus, it gives me more time for picspams and I know there's a lot of you who'll like that news. ;)
