I'm doing something a little different for this week's SPN Picspams, centering on one episode - What Is And What Should Never Be.

As those on my flist already know, I had some problems capping this episode due to trying out a new media player to make the screencaps. Long story-short, what I ended up with was two batches of caps, one of which numbered over 1,200! Hours of sorting later I ended up with a large group of incomplete caps for the episode. This is one of my favorite episodes of S2, however, and I didn't want to skimp on all the caps I'd worked so hard on.

So what I've ended up doing is breaking the episode up into two picspams - one for Dean and one for Sam. Understandibly there's more caps of Dean, since this is his episode. Thursday's Picspam will feature Sam's caps.

A little teaser...

As I mentioned, I've been trying out a new media player and these caps are sort of mix of quality because of it. Not every scene is represented because some of the caps from those scenes were just too color saturated and blown out to include. My theory is that these 65 caps will tide everyone over until I can get better, high-quality ones from the DVD set.

What Is And What Should Never Be - Dean

Dean and the Impala...nothing quite better than that. Dean fantasizes about Barbara Eden and then enters the building in search of the Djinn. I like the last cap in this row because of the highlights on his eyes.

No! Don't mess up his hair! Heh. Notice how Dean's got the same grip on the Djinn here as he did with Possessed!Sam in BUABS. *Guh* Shirtless Jensen...good in any alternate reality.

Darn! Why couldn't that be me in that bed. Nah, I really thought Carmen was great. Same shirt he wore in Playthings - still looks great in it, too.

I really like this first cap. Maybe it's his posture or where his hands are...I don't really know. Love the color of his eyes in the closeup.

Second one in this row is one of my faves from the entire ep. *flails*

Mommy! The second cap, with the way he's standing wearing that jacket reminds me of one of the early promo photos for S2. While this wasn't real, it was so great to see Dean finally hug his mom again after so many years. *sniffle*

Second cap - can you say gorgeous? I apologise for how blown out her sleeve is in the last 2 caps, but he looks stunning.

*happy sigh* The man's beauty cannot be denied. Even asleep he looks "edible", to quote a certain demon.

Heh. Dean & his food fixation. You gotta feel for poor Jensen, though, who has to eat this stuff take after take. The last cap - the back of his head and neck...nobody should look that good from that angle.

Again, I apologise for the quality here. These first 3 caps are not as good as they should be, but the images themselves were so nice I included them anyway. The last cap is a nice one, however, with Dean smiling proudly as he watches Sam and Jess together. Awww!

I love this whole row - lovely caps of Dean and Carmen. We even get a nice kiss.

*Sigh* Jensen makes any outfit look good and blue is a nice color on him.

*Guh* This whole row...the subtleness of his expressions just blows me away. Dean trying to find a connection with Sam, failing, and coming to the realization that he's lost his brother in this world.
