I'm just going to use this post to catch up on certain topics that I've felt like talking about for some time now. And for once they don't all revolve around Supernatural. Shocking, I know.

Before I get started, I just want to say it's darned cold here in the Seattle area. Brrrrrr! It's been this way for a couple of days now and last night the low in Seattle got down to 30 degrees. Up north in Vancouver, they're getting the same cold weather (we get all our cold air from them), so I hope the boys (Jensen & Jared) are keeping warm. Hopefully they don't have to do too much outdoor filming right now.

Okay, first order of business...I wanna talk about Lost. I've been with the show from day one, I've bought the DVD sets, and the official magazine, but this show is really starting to test my patience. It's not just that the questions keep adding up without any answers, either. I was watching last week's episode (the one centered around Sawyer), and it came to me. One of Lost's biggest problems right now is having way too many characters. Season 1, there were 14 (I think) survivors on the island. By Season 2, we were introduced to the Tailies, which made the number around 20. Of course, along the way we lost a few: Boone, Shannon, Libby, Anna-Lucia. And then there are The Others. And in last week's episode they added yet another guy (he was the one playing golf on the beach). It's gotten to the point that I honestly don't know how many characters there are anymore. So each week we only end up spending time with a few characters and the other ones aren't even seen or mentioned. I swear, this has got to be the biggest ensemble cast in the history of TV by now. It's gotten entirely out of hand. Watching an episode now, I realize I can't even remember what characters I saw the week before. That's just wrong. Especially for a show which is involved in a massive story arc. The way things are going, certain characters might be forgotten alltogether. What about Rose and Bernard? What happend to them? And I was almost shocked to see Charlie and Claire in last week's episode. I almost expected to see Claire's son, Aaron, as a teenager by now. I mean, we'd been away from them that long. Now I still like the show. I want to like it. But my patience is running out fast. I want some answers. Continually posing new mysteries and not answering the ones that have been there since the beginning is not the way to keep viewers watching. Eventually, we're going to give up and say the heck with it. And stop adding more characters! We don't need them. I find myself longing for the way things were in the first season, when it was just the small number of survivors and each week was centered around a flashback series on one or two of them. I knew who everyone was and could start to put together each of their backstories. Ah, for the good old days. Btw, I'm not the only one complaining about how Lost has degraded...just read a recent Q & A on TVGuide.com where several fans expressed their frustrations.

I watch Gilmore Girls, too and I'm still not sure what to think about this season so far. It does seem a little odd for Loreli to be dating Chris so soon after her disastrous breakup with Luke. It's almost like the season long relationship with Luke never happened. She had one weepy moment where Rory came to her side and then that was it. And meanwhile, Luke is pretty much in the same boat, telling her that he's fine over not being together anymore. Rory and Logan are trying to keep their relationship going while he's over in England...well...sort of. Seems like Rory calls him more than he does her. Granted, he's a busy guy over there, but still. I'm not a big fan of Logan. He's been a bad influence on Rory and has already proven to be untrustworthy. So if their relationship doesn't work, I think I'd be alright with that. And while I like Chris (he's Rory's dad after all), I don't think Loreli should be so involved with him. Chris does know her in ways that Luke never will because they grew up together, so there will always be a special friendship and bond there. That is completely understandable. They're just rushing this relationship way too fast.

Okay, I'm glad I got all of that off my chest. And now on to Supernatural...because I just can't have an entry here without mentioning my favorite show.

I'll keep it brief, I promise. Here's a little two part list - what's good and bad about SPN so far this season...(in no particular order):

SPN Season 2 - What's Good

* Lots of angst
* Metallicar back in all her shiny glory
* Cool new title card with fire
* More interesting recaps with cool music
* Star Wars references
* Jensen/Dean singing!
* Brotherly banter
* Jensen's acting
* Jared's acting
* Jensen in sexy hospital outfit in premiere episode
* "Back In Black" montage of the Impala's return to the road
* Ellen
* Ash
* John telling Dean how proud he was of him in the premiere
* Dean opening up to Sam at last at the end of Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things
* Sam never giving up on Dean in the premiere
* John making the ultimate sacrifice to save Dean in the premiere
* Sam only letting Dean call him Sammy...at last

SPN Season 2 - What's Bad

* Jo as Dean's way too young and annoying love interest
* John Winchester's death
* The ongoing mystery about what John whispered in Dean's ear
* SPN being in the toughest time slot of the week
* The CW continuing to not promote the show like it should
* The media in general ignoring this great show
* Sam/Jared breaking his wrist
* Sam getting attacked so easily by two girls in two straight episodes
* Too much time spent at he roadhouse
* Sam stopping Dean's singing in Simon Said
* Sam's unruly hair in Everybody Loves A Clown
* No new laptop yet so the boys can do their own research

That's all I can think of right now. If anyone comes up with any others, let me know and I'll add them in.

I'm still working on my little review of Devour and I plan on having a few sceencaps up from the movie as well, so keep looking for that.
