I'm really sick of people saying Eric Kripke should come back to the show and that Sera's ruined it.

1. Eric hasn't "left". He's simply not the show runner anymore. He's still a producer and still approves of things, just not at the capacity that he did before. I'm sick of people talking as if he's no longer involved in the show at all.

2. You've got to expect the show to be a little different. They finished a huge arc last season and are starting in a new direction.

3. It's only the first episode. You can't expect everything to be all neatly laid out in one 42 minute episode. A lot of things need to build up over time.

4. People change, so do TV characters. Look at what all the boys have been through. Sam's been to Hell, Dean's lived for a year without him. You can't expect them to be the same people we saw at the end of Season 5.

What is wrong with people????

She asked that the gag reel video not be uploaded to youtube! Is that so hard to do???? Why does this fandom have to prove again and again and again how immature and selfish it is?

I don't even know [livejournal.com profile] tracy_loo_who. She's not on my flist, but I'm considerate enough to take the generous download she provided and not do foolish things with it like upload it online.

Parts of this fandom really disgust me sometimes. :(

Edit: And now it's showing up on comms. Seriously people! A person asks you to do ONE thing! I guess that's too much, huh?

2nd Edit: The youtube video has now been made private. Let's hope nobody else uploads it.

3rd Edit: It's back up on youtube from someone else. Hell, even Chad Lindburg linked to it. So WTH...we'll all just do what we want to. To hell with requests and rules. Let's break'em all! Everyone else can go screw themselves right? "Don't walk on the grass" sign? Who cares! I'll walk where I wanna!

I'm so fed up with humanity right now.

Thanks to a link passed on by [livejournal.com profile] enablelove over on Twitter, I haz seen the entire S5 Gag Reel!!! Woot!! Watched it twice already. As usual, it doesn't disappoint. Nearly ten minutes of hilarity. :D

So here...get it yourself...if you dare! :P

Please, respect the requests and don't put it on youtube, okay? That would not be cool. We're very lucky we're getting this a month ahead of time as it is. Download it, enjoy it....and be cool fans, okay?

And in case anyone was wondering...no, I will not be making icons from the gag reel this time. One, when I did it the last 2 times I got in trouble w/fans who thought I was spoiling them, and two, because I really don't have the time right now.

Found this posted over at [livejournal.com profile] dean_sam and seriously fandom? This is stupid.

http://www.petitiononline.com/NM6SPN/petition.html

First of all, online petitions IMO are dumb. Especially fandom-related ones. Like we're really going to have any sway over the powers that be for our favorite show by signing a petition! They read reactions to things by ratings, people, not petitions.

Anyway, here's what the petition is for...

To: The CW Television Network
This petition aims to maintain the absence of Misha Collins fixed in the cast of the series Supernatural, in all seasons that appear. Including the current one.

Sincerely,
The Undersigned

Yep, a petition to keep Misha off of Supernatural. WTH???
I get it that some people think there's too much of Castiel on the show, but c'mon! It's a great character and he's only added to an already wonderful cast. It's not like he's in every single episode!
Oh, and it's pointless to say you want him out of the current season because they finished filming about a month ago!!!! Those episodes are done and ready to air. *sigh*

This is how we're spending our time now fandom? On this insanity? Summer hiatus is going to be very scary.

Before I went offline last night I checked out [livejournal.com profile] spnpermanon, just 'cause I was curious. I occasionally see what's going on over there when I get bored. Sure, it's the home for the crazies in SPN fandom and I tend to avoid those people, but sometimes you just gotta know what they're going on about right?

Low and behold, there was an actual thread about little ole' me! :)

http://spnpermanon.livejournal.com/2034.html?thread=4356082

I actually feel honored. It's like I've truly been initiated into the fandom now. LOL! :P

When I read the thread I found it quite laughable. MS Paint? Really???? You can't do a darned thing with that tiny program, much less edit photos or create fanart. What a joke! It's more for doodling and silly stuff. I've never used it for fanart. I use Picnik, which is an online image editor. I know most people use Photoshop or Gimp and use a lot of fancy filters and stuff and that's perfectly fine. I can use those programs (and have in the past), I simply choose not to.

And the idea that I'm a homophobe because I don't like people using slashy icons on my journal is crazy. The only reason I have that rule (and I think it's a pretty small request considering...) is because sometimes my mom has read my LJ posts and people's comments to them and I really don't want to explain some of the images people use. They don't bother me, but try explaining that to your over-70 yr old mother. Yeah. I had to briefly explain slash to her because of last season's "The Monster At The End Of This Book" and even that was awkward. So I don't have issues with homosexuality, but I do when it comes to exposing my mom or any of my relatives to it because some of them are less tolerant. Honestly, I don't know where my mom's opinion runs, but to avoid conflict with her, I figure it's best to avoid the subject as much as possible. And besides, this is MY LJ and I believe I'm well within my rights to ask that certain images not be used on it.

So there you have it. I see their points as weak and pathetic really. Goodness knows I've gotten much worse criticism elsewhere.

We've all heard the awesome news about SPN getting picked up for a 6th season. Yay!!!!! :D

What could possibly ruin this news?

Fandom panicking over this other piece of news today...

From Ausiello: Eric Kripke Stepping down as Showrunner

A lot of fans are reading this to mean that the show is going to drastically change with Sera Gamble now in "charge". It'll all be about Sam taking his clothes off and the boys being emo all the time. *facepalms* Yeah, in our dreams maybe. I highly doubt we'll even notice the change. Why?

Did you read this tidbit from the article?

But, and this is a big but, Kripke will remain actively involved in the show — and not just in name only. Although CW and Warner Bros. reps declined to comment, a Supernatural insider assures me that Kripke and his current co-showrunner, Robert Singer, will continue to function as hands-on executive producers.

“Eric and Bob will be working very closely with Sera,” says the source. “They are not abandoning the show.”

Did you hear that? "Not abandoning" Kripke will still be involved in the show. Honestly, I think this is a contractual thing. Since his contract ended with this season, he probably had to step down in some capacity to work out a new deal with WB. It's just my guess, anyway.

And do you realize that a TV show is not run by one man alone? It takes a small army of people...the same people who've been working on it from day one. They'll still be there, making the many decisions we never know about, but only see the results of. We give a lot of credit to Kripke for all the episodes we watch and enjoy, but each one of those hours is the end product of many people who create it. It's writers, producers, directors, and even the actors, along with countless other people all working together as a team that makes SPN what it is.

All I'm saying is....don't jump ship just because the captain isn't going to be steering all the time. We'll have a new captain who's been on deck the whole time. There are plenty of other good people who will keep the ship afloat like they've been doing all 5 seasons. Remember, Bob Singer will still be there, and Kripke's still going to be around to add his input. This just gives him some freedom to work on some other things.

And let's face it....we don't know what's going to happen until we see the episodes on the screen. ;)

The video from Jensen & Jared about not being on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, or any other social networking site is now out there. I'm glad the guys did something about this, to actively take steps in preserving their own images and reputations as well as protecting their fans, but sad that they even have to do such a thing.

More ramblings and thoughts... )

Okay, first of all a big massive group hug to my flist for being so wonderful. Thank you for lifting me up once again.

:: SPN won the People's Choice Award for Favorite SciFi/Fantasy Show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG People!!!! We did that! How awesome are we??? We're the best fans ever!!!!! I mean, SPN wasn't even on the initial ballot! We put it there and then we put them on top!!!!! WE ROCK!!!!!!! SPN beat out Lost & Heroes!!!! This is huge folks!

http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/awards/nominees/index.jsp

Okay, it's sad that Jensen didn't even make the nominees for Favorite TV Drama Actor, but I'm still psyched that the show actually won a major award! Finally!!!!! Oh, lemme say The People's Choice Awards is lookin' pretty classy again.

:: Now for the other big news item of the day....Jared and Genevieve are officially engaged.

Even though IMO this all feels a little rushed, I'm very happy for them both. I know a lot of fans are all "Oooh double wedding!", but c'mon folks. The guys aren't joined at the hip. They deserve to have their own individual weddings.

* Further proof that Fandom's Twitter take-over was successful: Twitter has a 'Supernatural' Experience. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] weesta for the heads-up. ;)

Been seeing this cool banner getting passed around (even by Chad Lindberg on Twitter) and I've proudly added it to my Profile Page. Feel free to take & use it. It's not mine, I'm just passing it on. :)

* On the agenda today:
- Catch up on more comments (prepare your inboxes everyone)
- Cap HQ download of 5x01
- Post my VanCon Photo-Ops & Autographs

* A few real life tidbits: I've got a new laptop desk that is kinda cool, it's a beautiful and warm day outside, and the stiff & sore feeling I had in my neck for 2 days has now moved down into my back. Peachy.

We made the news!!! SPN fans broke Twitter this morning! Woot!

Okay, so apparently people were freaking out over the #luciferiscoming Trending Topic, P Diddy got involved and soon there was a whole God vs. Lucifer war on Twitter. How awesome is that??? Somewhere Kripke has got to be laughing his ass off! :P

But Twitter then took them all down. Bah. So we're left with #supernatural and #inkripkewetrust.

Seriously? People couldn't take a second to see what that TT was even about? That it was for a TV show? *sigh*
Dean said it best..."People are stupid crazy."

The best part is that we made the news over this. Woot! \0/ More publicity for the show!

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2160263/luciferiscoming_the_twitterverse_has.html?cat=39

http://www.buddytv.com/articles/supernatural/lucifer-is-coming-how-supernat-31138.aspx

I heard we even made Fox News. Awesome! If this means more viewers tonight I'm all for it! :D
Yay!!!! Fandom!!!!

*goes back to Tweeting like crazy*

raloria: (Default)
Oh goodness what a night/morning it's been! Instead of taking care of my LJ comments (like I should've been) I was Tweeting like crazy about SPN and it worked 'cause guess what?!?!

SPN Fandom has now taken over Twitter's Trending Topics!!!!! WE ROCK!!!!!!

#luciferiscoming is at #1, #supernatural is at #2, and a lot of people are trying to get #inkripkewetrust up on the list as well.

Things were kinda quiet for a while and then some of us started Tweeting SPN Quotes and it just took off! It was a lot of fun, too! :D

I'm so proud of fandom right now and if this means we get more people to watch tonight then it's doubly awesome! \0/

Why can't people go to a SPN con and enjoy what opportunity it gives them? Why does it have to develop into wank online?

This is just the latest thing, but it's the final straw for me. I've got to say my piece. This is not going to just cover the latest Danneel bashing, but the Gen bashing as well.

My opinions on the current wank... )
