I've found a new, temporary home for my music vid that was blocked on YouTube last week. For those of you who are new to my LJ, it's your chance to see it for the first time. For everyone else....you can take another look and watch it again without the ugly compression that YouTube seems to excel at.

I felt the need to make a list of my future music vid plans. Now that I've got a YouTube account I'm more motivated to get these done. ;)

I'll be posting the link to this in my sidebar, so I can reference it easily. Posting this list so everyone can see it will keep me on task (hence, the "Eyeball of Doom" icon...hee!). Now all I've gotta do is find the time to make these and get some good downloads of S3. :P

Music vid showing the bond of the brothers. Lots of scenes of them walking together at the end (ELAC, TUS, etc.). Just listening to this song brought all the images of the brothers walking together into my mind.

*** “Wayfaring Stranger“ by Neko Case
This song just seems made for the Winchester brothers.

*** “Building A Mystery“ by Sarah McLachlan
A music vid about Dean. One of the best songs I've ever heard to describe Dean. I'm hoping to literally match the lyrics with visuals from the episodes.

*** “Mama Told Me Not To Come“ by 3 Dog Night
This would be a more humorous vid, with some of the more weird, lighthearted moments.

*** "The Wedding" or "Goodbyes" from "Legends Of The Fall" soundtrack
I've got a rough idea for a "Mystery Spot"/"No Rest For The Wicked" vid. Very angsty as it will show lots of Dean dying.

*** "Witness" by Sarah McLachlan
I made a music vid of "IMTOD" with this song a long time ago, however, it was done using mediocre video and I'd really like to re-do it properly now that I have better video footage.

*** "Suspect" by Daniel Powter
This should have been on the original list, but I somehow forgot and it was left out. I love this song and right away got a cool idea for a music vid revolving around scenes of action on the show. Lots of cuts of running, jumping, guns....all that cool action-hero stuff we love so much.

*** "You Needed Me" by Anne Murray
This is a requested vid by i_o_r_h_a_e_l and her friend, who want a vid set to this song. It's supposed to be about the brotherly love between Sam & Dean and possibly be about Dean coming back from hell. I've listened to a download of the song several times and I'm already getting some ideas.

It's so late and I've been working on that SPN MasterCard vid some more....tweaking away. I even got my Mom in on the project. I needed a fresh set of eyes to check out the changes I made and then it morphed into this whole search for some new clips to add and replace other ones. Most of the clips work just fine, it's the ones for the ammo line that is driving me nuts. You think the boys use their guns a lot? Well guess again. It's not as often as you think. At least not in Seasons One and Two.

Anyway, I've now got 2 versions uploaded and neither are finished versions yet. They're close, but they're just not quite up to my satisfaction yet. I've toyed with the idea of letting a few of you see them, but then there's that whole thing of not letting people see things that aren't really finished yet. I hope that makes sense...I'm tired.

Oh, I made caps for SPN Revealed of IMTOD and ELAC, too. Got a little depressed after Dean hit the Impala trunk with the crowbar. All those old feelings about my Dad came flooding back. I can so identify with Dean in that scene, even now. I just get over my mixed up feelings from last month and now I've got Father's Day staring me in the face in a couple of weeks. Super. I was going to post about what I was feeling, but then I decided to suck it up and get back to work on things. I'm good at that. It worked two years ago after all. Again, so much like Dean...hiding it all inside. Probably not the brightest plan, but it works for me, at the time anyway.

I'm rambling badly now, so I'm going to sign off and get a few hours of sleep. One of these days I'll get back to going to bed at a decent hour. Meh.

Making progess on the SPN MasterCard Vid. It's pretty fun putting this together.

All the clips are in place and now it's coming down to the hardest parts....the final cut and the music. Right now, the rough cut clocks in at 1 min. 11 sec. I might cut it a little more. I also might need to edit in an extra bit for the ammo line. We'll see how it goes.

As for the music, I tried listening to various classic rock songs from the show and a few others I've accumulated. But I came to the conclusion that I need something that's just instrumental, so none of those would work (except "Stranglehold" since it's got a long instrumental section). So I went to tried and true music resource that I found in college: FreePlayMusic. Problem there? Too many choices. LOL! I can't win! But I have narrowed it down to 8 tracks. I keep playing them against the video footage and they could all work. Trust me, I'm trying to keep to the musical sound of the show. I selected tracks that have a classic rock or southern rock sound.

I think the question I'm having with the music is about tone. Do I keep it more lighthearted and fun or a little more serious and somber considering the scene of Dean hugging Sam is in there? Then there's the question of speed? Faster music really doesn't work. So the ones I've chosen are more medium to medium-slow.

Meanwhile, I'm getting another headache. Ah, well....my Dad always told me "You have to suffer for your art." :D

Edit: (3:11 a.m.) I just added in the text and I gotta admit, it nearly looks like the real deal! I've looked at a lot of the past MasterCard ads on YouTube and I'm kind of using the MacGyver one as my guide. I also found that some SPN fans have already beaten me to the punch and made some SPN MasterCard ads. But I still think mine's better. Ha! :D

I posted this music vid before, back in August, but I've now uploaded it to YouTube. *bounces*

Btw, I've got lots of other ideas/plans for other music vids. It's just a matter of making the time to make them. Those of you who make music vids know how time consuming they can be. ;)

I don't get to make music vids nearly as often as I'd like, so when I finish one it's always a big deal. Plus, I'm a perfectionist, so when I say that I'm quite pleased with this vid, that's really saying something.
