Past & Future Posts
Feb. 26th, 2008 11:47 amForgive me if I ramble...I'm running on no sleep this morning. Not to worry...I'm sure I'll crash after lunch. LOL. I was supposed to make this post last night, but, well...let's just say I was detained by a relative.
What was & what is to come:
* Feb. 20th -- Made my first Just 'Cause cap post. I'm up to my 7th day of these and they're still popular.
* If you haven't had a chance, you can read my latest fanfic: "Sam & Dean Meet The LJ Gremlins". It's not my normal genre, but it was fun to write.
* Made my Mystery Spot animation of Dean going "Dude...Asia". I still smile whenever I look at it. :)
* Still having troubles with my new Vista PC. Yesterday I established that it's crashing exactly every hour. Weird. I'll be making a phone call about it sometime this week. I may very well end up going back to Windows XP.
* Because of my computer problems, I still haven't completely capped 3.12 yet, so my First Impressions post is still pending. Worst comes to worst, I'll just take a couple of caps here on the Mac and use them.
* Watched the Oscars Sunday night. I hadn't seen any of the nominated films, so I had no favorites, but I almost always watch the awards anyway, being the filmmaker/film geek that I am. :) Loved seeing all the fashions (how 'bout those red dresses?), George Clooney *swoons*, and Jon Stewart host a classy show.
* Can somebody slow down the week? I'm still trying to get my big Jensen birthday post done by Saturday. Made a little progress yesterday, but I still haven't typed up my post or really even decided what all I'm going to include.
* I'm going to get that UNC Achordants music post up this week, too. No more delays....it's getting posted!
* Still need to catch up on more comments, especially the older ones. *resolves to get more of them done today* :)
*hugs flist* Okay...lunch, nap, & then back to LJ.

Happy Birthday to my Best Friend!!!!!
Feb. 26th, 2008 09:35 pmI just had to make a special post to celebrate the birthday of a very special person, by best friend. You on my flist know her as GeckoGirl. She's got a LJ now (Yaaaaay!), so I know she'll see this. Allow me to indulge, 'cause I've been friends with this gal for almost 20 years. Yes, 20 years! Can you believe it, girl? :)
How do you thank a person for a life? For simply being there through good times and bad, even though miles apart? I know you like to give me a lot of credit for helping you over the years, but it goes both ways, hun. You've helped me more times than I can count. You've been my cheerleader, my champion, my inspiration, my counselor, my guide. I don't even want to think of what my life would have been without you. When I've given up on myself you've always been there to build me back up, never wavering from your belief in me. For years I used to believe you would just walk away, as so many other friends had done, but you stayed through everything. Even though you reassured me this friendship would stand the test of time, I had been burned so many times, I didn't believe it. I do now. There's no doubt in my mind that we'll be friends, as you've said so many times, when we're old and grey. I admire that you're always challenging yourself, learning new things, with a boldness I myself do not possess. You've made it through so many difficult times and always found a way to triumph over them, becoming stronger on the other side. You listen to my rantings, give me advice, and most of all provide a steady shoulder to lean on. I know you're not going to believe that you deserve any of this praise, but trust me, sweetie, you do! *Hugs* :D
