Two fortunes are better than one
May. 7th, 2007 04:33 amLast month 2 friends took me to my first Chinese restaurant (yes, it's true, I've never had Chinese before) - a buffet actually. Naturally, we each grabbed a fortune cookie on our way out. My cookie happened to have 2 different fortunes inside:
"You will have gold pieces by the bushel."
"You may lose the small ones but win the big ones."
I'm still waiting for that gold to show up... :)
It's the beginning of a new week, so it feels right to post a little status report....
* I've had my throat/nasal bug for a week now and I think I can finally say I'm sensing some improvement. My throat feels much better, but my cough is back. Still blowing my nose, too, but it's easing up. This is saying a lot considering just a couple of days ago my voice was just about gone.
* Gilmore Girls has been cancelled. Can't say I'm too shocked by this news. I'm actually kind of happy. The show's had a great run and this season was a little disappointing, so it's definetly time to end it. It was never the same after the Palladino's left and the ratings slumped because of it. We've suffered and survived through the whole Loreli/Chris fiasco that took up most of this season. Last week Logan asked for Loreli's permission to marry Rory. I say let them get married and have Loreli and Luke finally realize that they do love each other and at least get engaged again. Yeah, I know...there's only 2 or 3 eps left, but I'm still hoping for a happy ending to this whole thing. Hopefully the producers thought ahead and planned for this possibly being their last season.
* Lost is finally answering some questions! I couldn't be happier. Heck, I'm just happy everyone's finally back on the same beach! With the season winding down, I think the biggest question is who's gonna get killed off this time. The odds are pointing towards Charley (no! not him!!!), because of Desmond's constant premonitions of his death. I suspect it'll be someone else. As long as it's not Sawyer, I'm okay with it. Alright...it can't be Jack, Kate, Charley, Hurley....hmmmmm. I don't know. Part of me just wants them to figure out how to get off the island and finally go home already. *Sigh* Lost certainly tries my patience. And yet I keep on watching. *shrugs*
* Jensen's going to be in the stage production of "A Few Good Men" in the first week of June, in his home state of Texas. I'm glad he's taking that big step so many actors take and trying out acting on the stage. 'Course, part of me is wondering why seemingly shy Jensen would want to do any theater work, but oh well. He's trying new things, and I'm all for that. A movie roll would've been great, too, but this production should be a good experience for him. Too bad I won't be able to see him on stage. You lucky few who got tickets? Be sure to give detailed reports in your LJs so the rest of us know how he did. Meanwhile, I just keep imagining Jensen in a military uniform....oh yeah....*thud*
* To all of you going to the Asylum Con next weekend...you lucky people you!....please take lots of photos and share your experiences online! My only other request is that you at least blow Jensen a kiss for me! *Sigh* How I would love to meet that man!
* Did a bunch of capping yesterday. Capped all of Route 666 and Salvation. I've already got the next ep of DA capped as well. So things are getting back on track as far as picspams go. Yay!
* Finished my last bit of editing for the documentary on Friday. Not my greatest work, but then I didn't have much to work with and I was sick. A big thank you and hug to all of you who came to my rescue and sent great pictures of Jensen to cheer me up. It really did help me when I needed it the most!
* Tried to find the Supernatural comic book on Friday and turned up empty handed. By what I've been reading, I'm not the only one having trouble. Really not interested in buying it online, so that's out. I'll try a few other places around here, but if I can't find it I guess there's not much I can do. Oh, well, maybe I'll just be content with the scans I saw that someone posted.
* Only 2 epsiodes of SPN left! My, but how the season's flown by. I'm really sad to see it end. I'm sure we're getting a 3rd season, but it'll still be a long summer with no new episodes each week to enjoy. Btw, I have some interesting theories about how the finale is going to play out, but I'll save them for a separate post for those of you staying spoiler free. *Sigh* Thursday just can't get here fast enough for me.
* I've felt like making another SPN music vid lately. I've had several in mind for a while now, but haven't had the time to make any of them. Now I've got some time and can't decide which one to tackle. Always wanted to do a Dean central one set to Sarah McLachlan's "Building A Mystery". The lyrics of that song have always screamed Dean at me. Of course, I was always going to re-do my music vid I made for IMTOD set to (again Sarah McLachlan's) "Witness". The first time I made it, I didn't have a very good quality episode download to work with. I've since aquired a better version. I was very pleaed with how the vid turned out, but like I said the quality was lacking. I also had planned to do a vid centering around Dean's early internal struggles in the first several episodes of this season and set it to Sarah McLachlan's "Answer". Can you tell I like Sarah McLachlan music? Her songs just seem to fit with SPN perfectly. Of course, I'm currently listening to Alison Krauss's "Slumber My Darling" and I'm thinking it would be great for a music vid about last week's episode. It's sort of a lullaby and would work nicely with Dean seeing his mom again...plus there's that nice little moment where he's asleep on the couch....hmmmmmm.
* Here's a couple of SPN fanfic recs:
"Fighting Back" by Sophie Saulie -- Takes place after BUABS as Dean is struggling to recover from his wounds and Sam is worried.
"'Lil Sammy" by SciFiNutTX -- Sam takes a nasty knock on the head, resulting in strange amnesia. He thinks he's five years old. What can Dean do about it?
* I'm still getting caught up on my replies. Hopefully I'll get completely caught up over the next couple of days. :)
