I know I'm woefully late with this post. I just realized I forgot to make it. Ooops! :P
But hey, it's still officially Monday where I am, so it works, right? *g*

Thought I'd share a couple of my favorite Bee Gees songs, "You Win Again" & "One". Even though their music was popular when I was a kid, I didn't catch onto their music until only a few years ago. Btw, these are great for exercising. Gotta love that steady beat! :D

Remember, if you want downloads of both or either of the songs, let me know in comments. :)

I first heard this song when it was used in an episode of "Alias" and have loved it ever since. Everyone's got troubles and we'd all like them to "be kind" but they never are.

I've always thought this would be a good song for SPN as well. Goodness knows the boys have been through enough troubles to last 10 lifetimes.

Just ask if you want the mp3.

Something a little different to start off your Monday.

I love old music, big band music. I grew up on the stuff because my parents did the same thing. In my CD collection there are great works by Miller, Shaw, Goodman, and more. I've only recently begun to get interested in Ellington though.

I first heard "Mood Indigo" in the opening scene of "The Untouchables" movie of all things and over the summer while watching TV late at night I caught part of Ken Burn's "Baseball" series and one of the songs used was "I Let A Song Go Out Of My Heart". Enjoy! :D

I have both of these songs available for download if anyone wants them. Just let me know in the comments.

Been a few weeks since I've done one of these. Time to get back on schedule again. ;)

Just have a video today of NKOTB on the 1990 American Music Awards. I'll always remember the summer of 1990 as a magical time. It was the height of my NKOTB obsession and I was riding high on their music, concerts, products, the animated TV series...all of it! I certainly wasn't the most popular gal in high school because of my love for these 5 guys from Boston, but I wore my NKOTB jacket with pride and didn't care about the naysayers.

Special Edition of Music Monday today with part of the playlist I made for last year's VanCon.

These were songs that I'd gotten hooked on in the few months before the Con, many of them from listening to Shore 104 FM up in Vancouver online. I burned all of these songs and a few others onto a CD to take along up to Van. Sadly, I didn't get to play it until our last day, but it was great fun to have this music blasting on the long drive home at night after an amazing weekend. :D

Of special note is the 2nd song, "You Don't See It" by The Duhks. This became THE SONG for me, representing VanCon itself. I really have no reason for it, except that I love the song and heard it a couple of times in stores when I was shopping for the trip. I took it as a good sign. That I was really meant to go to the convention. :)

Heard this song on Shore 104 FM last week and HAD to have it! Total LOVE! I don't normally listen to music by these guys, but I have heard some of their stuff. This is simply beautiful! Like someone on youtube said, "it's the perfect theme song for summer"! :D

I know not everyone will be able to see the official music video, but I hope some of you can. It's very breezy and fun! :D

Here's the song on the Grooveshark player:

I can upload this song for anyone who wants it. ;)

Only a video today.

Another nostalgic look back. I remember this AMA show, mostly because it was the first time NKOTB were on a major awards show. *g* I was also a big fan of Janet and Paula and these two performances really stood out.

I think I still have this on an old Beta tape somewhere in my collection. :P

I'm taking a nostalgic look back at some favorite songs from my teenage years. Most of these are late 80s - early 90s songs.

I still love listening to this song by Elisa Fiorillo. It's kind of empowering IMO. "This is my world, and I'm sorry, but this table is reserved." I still have this video on one of my old Beta videotapes. ;)

Sadly, the song's not on Grooveshark (or anywhere else that I can find online), so here's my mp3 of the song:

This was rec'd to me months ago by [livejournal.com profile] maferi_nah. It was the hit of the internet at the time, but even if you've already seen it, it bears a 2nd look. I'm not all that hot about the song, but the video is AMAZING!

I cannot fathom how long it took to set that all up and how many times they probably had to film it, resetting everything! The mind boggles. Enjoy the show! :D

I'm getting near the end of my finds from Shore 104 FM, but far from my resources for cool, new music. ;)

Today's song is another selection by Canadian singer, Eric Hutchinson. I really like his music and this one is no exception. A very upbeat song and a cute video, too. :)

Here's the song via Grooveshark if you can't watch the video:

This shows how sucky I feel. Totally forgot about the Music Monday post until now, which is Tuesday. Fail!

I first heard this song way back in 2005 when it was used in one of the first SPN music vids I ever saw. It was a really great fit with SPN's Season 1.

Here's the song via Grooveshark if you can't watch the video:

As usual, if you want the song I can upload it. Just let me know in the comments. ;)

Our first Monday of July and I have a duet to share. I checked out the "Raising Sand" album from the library a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Been a fan of Krauss's for a long, long time. ;)

This is the last of my favorite songs for June. Another Shore 104 FM discovery with The Trews. Here's the thing I have with this band though...I only like their live, accoustic recordings. I've heard their regular albums and it's noisy and loud and I just don't care for it. But when they go simple it all works for me. ♥

This song is one of my favorites of theirs. Even the video is gorgeous with all the nice close-ups. Simple and perfect. :D

Here's the song through Grooveshark if you can't watch the video. It's the exact same accoustic recording.

As usual, I have this song available for anyone who wants it. ;)

This is one of those wonderful feel-good songs and a perfect choice for today, this first day of Summer! :D

If your toe doesn't start tapping, if your body doesn't move to this song's infectious beat, then you're dead. A great song if you're feeling a little down and need cheering up. ♥ it! :D

I know nobody really cares about these posts anymore, but I saved my favorite songs for my birth month, so I'll go ahead and post them and then end these posts.

I discovered this song (yes, again through Shore 104 FM) last year and loved it ever since. There are other songs that I like by this Canadian group, but this is still my favorite. It's been a thrill to hear this played in a couple of stores lately. The YouTube video is of them performing the song at a radio station.

Here's the song thru Grooveshark for the album version & if anyone can't watch the YouTube video:

I can also upload this song for anyone who wants it. ;)

Since it's my birth month, I wanted to showcase some of my favorite songs. Most of these are songs I discovered last year, but I still love them. :)

I'll always associate this song with Shore 104 FM up in Vancouver, BC because I listened to their station for the first time last summer during Vancouver's Celebration Of Light fireworks competition. After they simulcast the music to the first show they played this song by Eric Hutchinson and it was perfect! Love, love, love! :D

Here's the song through Grooveshark if you can't play the YouTube video or want to hear the album version:

I also have this song available for download if anyone wants it. ;)

Almost forgot to post this today. :P

This is a perfect song for Memorial Day, which is the unofficial start of summer here in the US. Check out the video if you can - pure fun. :D

If you can't view the video, here's the song through Grooveshark:

I heard this song just last week on Shore 104 FM and fell instantly in love with it. Knew I had to share it with you all for this week's post. :) I really love their sound and the blending of the voices is beautiful.

Couldn't find this group at all on Grooveshark (they're that new), so all I have is this YouTube video. You can also go HERE to their My Space and listen to 4 of their songs including this one.

raloria: (Default)
Is anyone still interested in these posts? Thought I'd ask since there has been very little response to them lately.

Another selection from Shore 104 FM's end of the year countdown. ;)

How about some happy, uplifting music for this Monday? :)

If you can't watch the video, here's the song through Grooveshark.

Sorry I'm late with this today, folks. Yet another selection from Shore 104 FM's end of the year countdown. ;)

The reverberating guitars make this an awesome song! :D

If you can't watch the video, here's the song through Grooveshark.
