This Week In TV: Series Roundup

I'm trying not to totally give up on these posts. Really. It's simply that I'm so busy with SPN all the time, it's a little tough to devote any time to the other series I watch.
So here's a little overview of what I'm watching & thoughts about them right now.
The Forgotten
This show might not be on for much longer, as I'm hearing the ratings are not good. *sigh* I've only missed one eppy, and while they've had a few really good episodes, there were some that were downright boring. Still, I've stuck with it and still enjoy watching it for the most part.
Lie To Me
Love this show! I hope it sticks around because, again, I'm hearing it's in trouble. :( It's on a hiatus right now and I wish they'd announce when it's coming back. The show being off the air this long, can't be a good sign.
Eastwick
Canceled by ABC. Boo! Hiss!!!! Not only did they not give this show a chance, they completely botched it up near the end by skipping an entire episode! When the show returned after a week off, I had no idea what was going on and like that it ended! Gah!!!! So frustrating! I really enjoyed the show and it was a nice mix of humor and drama, along with whimsy. Shame it didn't make it. :(

Four episodes.....4 and then they go on a huge, long hiatus. WTH??? Honestly, I'm not sure I'm even going to care anymore once this show returns March 30th. What idiot network exec thought this was a good idea? It'll be interesting to see what the ratings are upon their return. I hadn't even really gotten into the show yet, and I doubt many others have either.
Dancing With The Stars
I love this show! I've watched since the beginning and it never fails to be entertaining. I love dance anyway and you mix celebrities into that and it's a win/win in my book. I was so thrilled when Donny Osmond won it last season. Woot! The show returns March 22nd, so there's still a bit of a wait. Totally looking forward to it. :)
Flash Forward
This is another show I haven't really gotten into much. I also haven't seen the last 5 episodes, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Like several other shows (WTH is up w/that ABC?) it's been on a long hiatus and is set to return March 18th. After being confused by Lost for so many years I'm not really sure I'm interested in another long mytharc type of show. One is enough thank you very much. And frankly, the episodes I saw were somewhat confusing to say the least. I dunno....I'll try to catch up with it and see what I think.
The Amazing Race
Another reality series I enjoy. Have already read about some of the teams that'll be on the show's return Feb. 14th. Brothers? And a cowboy team? Yes, please! :D
Survivor
Long-time viewer of this show. Since day one, to be exact. I never miss it! This time it's a return of favorites with Heroes vs. Villains! This oughtta be great fun! It's hard to pick a favorite right now, but I'll be puling for Rupert, I'm sure.
Lost
Returns tonight!!!! Wheeeee!!!!! Looking forward to this show's final season. I just finished watching all past 5 seasons and I'm ready for some real answers. Do I think we'll get them? Probably not. In fact, I'm all set to be totally disappointed in the end of this thing. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy the show, but I just think the producers and writers have dug themselves into a hole so deep that they'll never be able to come up with a satisfying ending. Everything's so convoluted. It's crazy! But as long as there's some more shirtless Sawyer I'll be happy. ;)
Supernatural
Seriously? Do I even have to say anything about this show anymore? It's the best. Period. Sure, the past couple of episodes have been on the so-so meter, but I know it'll be back to true form soon enough. Even the great shows, like The X-Files, had awful episodes now & then. Bring on Season 6! \0/
Fringe
Another big favorite. I hope this show sticks around and I'm so happy it's back on the air. Totally caught up in the mythology and very much a shipper of Olivia/Peter. I look forward to this series every week, even though it's on opposite SPN and I have to record it. ;)
The Vampire Diaries
After being hesitant about this series, it finally took hold of me and I've been really enjoying it. It's a nice lead into SPN every Thursday, too.
Castle
I don't like seeing this series showing up on the danger of cancelation lists. Nooooo!!!! I love this show! The humor is great, as is the drama, not to mention the ever-evolving ST between Beckett and Castle. Whoo!
Legend Of The Seeker
Outside of SPN, Fringe, and Castle, this is the show I look forward to the most each week. It's been compared to Xena & Hercules, but IMO it's less cheezy than those series. This season, especially it's taken a very dark and dramatic turn which only makes the episodes more intriguing. It just finished a 3 episode arc of sorts that was totally riveting!
The only other show I could add is Chuck, but I've only watched one eppy and I've missed the past 2. Ooops. So I'm not too sure if I'll watch it again. Like I've said (and as you can see by this list) my plate is already pretty full and this seems to be all I can handle. I've heard only good things about Leverage, too, but since I don't have cable, I'd have to get it via downloads. It's a thought, but again, spending the time on yet another series doesn't seem feasible right now. Maybe over the summer?
