LJ Catch-up Time!

I'm especially gonna need it over the next couple of weeks as I've been a bad girl and used more of my own internet data than I should have. *hangs head in shame* I'm down to only 8 GB! Eeep! Not good. So my time online is going to be extremely limited for the next week or so.
But! I have a plan! \0/
Luckily, I don't need to be online that long to do my daily posts....if I behave myself and use some self-control (youtube, stay away from me!). If I do more capping, fix the caps using software on the laptop instead of online...it should mean I can consolidate my online time much more effectively. *hopes*
Anyway, right now I'm going to try and catch up with more of my LJ replies. Prepare for your Inboxes to fill up! *g*

Friday Fun!
Dec. 6th, 2013 02:07 amAs I stated yesterday, things are less than ideal in RL right now. Tonight I was looking online for some diversions and laughs and ended up looking at videos on youtube, mostly con videos. There's nothing quite like Jensen, Jared & Company to lift ones spirits and give you a good laugh.
I realize I'm late to the party, but this moment from BurCon last month is truly a gem! Richard messing around with the video screens and then the ceremony of returning the red gym shorts to Jensen. Pure Gold!
I also watched the Larry King interview with Misha (finally!). Fun stuff, but I agree with some YT commentators that Larry doesn't seem to "get" Misha's humor. Shame. And for some reason it made me think of how Misha was on the first cruise he hosted through Creation at the 2011 VanCon. It was such a treat to see him going from group to group of fans and talking to everyone. Not being the con-persona Misha that makes everyone laugh (though there were elements of that there), but just a regular guy. I noticed during the interview with Larry that I most saw the real Misha when he was smiling and laughing. It's kinda sweet, really.
I also found this pic on Facebook. So happy someone did this because it's the first thing that came to my mind when I was recovering from this week's ep.
I return you to your regularly scheduled Friday. :)

Daily Fanart: Jensen from VanCon 2011
Feb. 6th, 2012 01:44 amIn honor of the first SPN convention of the year, NashCon this weekend, I thought I'd post one of my favorite photos of Jensen from the Sunday Breakfast at last year's VanCon. I wish the photo was more in focus and I did the best I could with it, but him whipping out that knife was so unexpected (and Hot *g*). And I know it shouldn't be a big deal. I mean my dad and my grandpa both carried small pocketknives with them all the time, it's a guy thing, but knowing Jensen does as well? Utterly fantastic! :D

Quickies 25 - Flist Edition
Sep. 23rd, 2011 02:26 am:: I'm ready for fall/winter
Bought this Columbia Argon Ice Parka yesterday. Not through Amazon, but at a local store, on sale. Still an expensive sucker, but you're getting 3 jackets in one, so it's quite an investment. You can wear the outer shell as a light, rain jacket or the blue fleece jacket alone, or combine the two together. I love Columbia jackets. Already have a black fleece one that I wear a lot. :)
:: Health Update
I'm doing a lot better from my various VanCon woes. My neck is basically healed up. There's only the slightest bit of pulling when I turn my head either direction. My sunburn that I got on the last day on location (Aug 31st) has turned into a nice tan. The 2 weird bumps on my upper lip disappeared. The only thing left is the pain in my lower, left back, but even that is getting better each day. It's still stiff and sore in the mornings, making getting dressed a little painful, but as the day goes on I limber up and within a few hours I hardly notice it at all.
Still haven't gotten back to walking yet, but I plan on it. With my back feeling better I hope to start walking next week. Don't want to start packing on the few pounds I lost since VanCon.
As for mom, she's seeing improvements, too. After a visit with all her doctors her blood sugar readings are starting to come down *knocks on wood*. Her mammogram was fine with no signs of the cancer returning. However, she does have a slight case of anemia which they're looking into and her liver functions showed something weird. She had an ultrasound done Thursday morning for the liver issue, so we'll see what's up with that. The gout she had from the trip up to Van finally cleared up on it's own. It's been weeks, but the past couple of days I'm finally starting to notice that she's feeling a little better. I think it's because the blood sugar is finally coming down. We were starting to think the increase in her meds would never bring it down! Here's hoping the blood sugar comes down and stays down! I've been worrying and stressing over mom's condition for a while now, so I'm hoping she's turned a corner for the better.
:: Friendings are complicated
My SPN Season 7 Friending Meme is turning into somewhat of a let down. It's really not attracting that many people though I'm happy some folks have formed connections with it. Nobody's made me an offer, but oh, well...that's the way it goes sometimes.
I must admit, I'm planning on doing a friends cut sometime soon, but I still thought a Friending Meme coinciding with the start of the new season would be fun. Instead it's left me a bit disappointed. I know...whine, whine, complain, complain.
:: Icons
Been feeling the need to swap in some new icons. I know I just did this recently, but I'm already regretting some I added in and wishing I had others in their place. This is what happens when one has too many icons to choose from. *sigh*

VanCon 2011: SPN Location Photos
Sep. 12th, 2011 06:23 pmI have reports about my experiences, the panels, and such that will come a little later on, but for now I want to share my photos from the convention & afterwards.
The Monday & Tuesday after the convention were mostly spent going around to past filming locations. I say mostly because a lot of Tuesday was actually spent where the SPN production was filming (those photos will be in the following post). Didn't get to as many past locations as in years past, but seeing the guys filming the show was worth the sacrifice. :D
Btw, Monday was also the day the building near SPN's backlot burned. You can read my report about it HERE along with photos & videos. All the photos I have of the fire are also included with the locations photos here in the zipped folder.

VanCon 2011: Day 3 Photos

After IMO a sucky photography day on Saturday, I did get things turned around for the most important day with "the boys". I finally relented and used flash in most instances because otherwise everyone came out blurry. Note that there are more photos of Jensen than Jared here (sorry Jared girls!). I tried, but my camera was in love with Jensen I couldn't pull it away from him. *g*

I just had to make a separate post for this, because it really is my favorite pic of Jensen during the Sunday Breakfast. He was so happy and smiling from the get-go, so I knew it was going to be a good day. :D

IMO these aren't as good as ones I've had in years past, but I still want to share what I've got. Saturday (Day 2) was especially a bad photography day. Some settings were wrong or off and I didn't notice until the day was half over. Luckily, I made up for it a little on Sunday.

Sort of a big deal for me because I noticed and asked Jensen about it during autographs. *g* It's a Perrelet Turbine and costs $4,000. o.O I must say it was quite striking though. :)

VanCon 2011: Tidbits
Sep. 2nd, 2011 03:56 pmI know you're all eager for my VanCon reports, but there's lots of photos to sort thru and take care of and it's going to take a little while. In the meantime, think of this post as a little teaser of what's to come. :P
- Number of Photo-ops: 11
- Number of Autographs: 12
- Most memorable Photo-Op: Jensen/Misha because of the body contact alone! Eeeee!!!! :D
- Best Photo-Op Pic: I love practically all my photo-ops this year, but I'll have to go with the J2 one as my top fave. I think it may even trump the one from 2009.
- Memorable non-VanCon moment: The naked guy outside the convention hotel on Saturday.
- Best Autograph Moment: This is tough. I really don't have a "moment" this time. I did have Matt Cohen sign the pic I took of him last yr. that he's using as his Twitter avatar and that was pretty cool. But I guess I'll go with Jensen just 'cause...you know. *g* Had no clue of what to say to him, so I went spontaneous and noted his cool watch. He said the spinning was from body movement and that's what made the watch run. Cool!
- Memorable VanCon moment: Probably Jensen whipping out that knife during the Sunday Breakfast. HOLY COW! HOW HOT WAS THAT?!?! That wasn't Jensen on that stage, that was pure Dean Winchester. So awesome how he made good on the threat to the duck later on in the panel. *g* (See pic below)
- Biggest regret: Not meeting all my online friends. So sorry I missed many of you. *huggles*
- Biggest VanCon Disappointment: There was no free gift at registration and no convention mini-poster in the vendor's room. Boo! Not cool, Creation. :(
- Best ticket buy: The Misha Dinner Cruise. Totally worth the hefty price tag. It was a dream! Perfect weather, scenery, photo opportunities galore, great food, and a charming host. I feel I was part of something truly special and I'm so glad I splurged on it. :)
- Best Awwww Moment: Jensen talking about him making a little tent around the baby in the car seat from 5x02 because it was hot. *says goodbye to ovaries*
- Best SPN crew member: Mike the PA from Wednesday's location filming. He was SO nice to our group of fans, even apologizing for making us move repeatedly! The guy was doing his job and we all totally understood. He was great, joking around with us, and even telling us little bits about the production. :)
- Best on location moment: Jensen bending over so the hairstylist could get his hair just perfect for a scene. Too Cute! Second only to him spreading his legs way out so he stood shorter so another gal could fix his make-up a little later on.
- The Boys are Awesome Moment: During their last scene on location the guys pulled up in the Impala to our group of fans not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES! The last 2 with Jared chatting with us. :D :D :D

Home from VanCon 2011

Got home super late last night, or I should say this morning at 2 a.m. Ugh. Long drive was long, especially after standing around all day and night on location watching SPN film. But what we saw was totally worth all the pain and suffering. :)
My neck is still quite sore. Tired of taking pain killers though. :( I've also got a sunburn from standing around on location yesterday. A little itchy, but so far not too annoying. It's also depressing to be home and not in Vancouver anymore. I miss the beautiful city already and all my friends. What an amazing week it was. *sigh*
I need to find some lunch to eat then start un-packing (so depressing). Going to TRY and post today's
