Started to update spn_locations with the new Locations List done by areas and...LJ was doing it's usual bitchy stuff and saying my post was too large. Gah!

I took out 3 whole seasons of info. and it was STILL too long! *sigh*

So that's it. Those lists simply won't be posted to the comm. They're not really finalized anyway, but I was going to put up what I had (and what wynefred worked so hard on). We'll have to work on them later, after the con...get them ready for VanCon 2016. :P

In the meantime, I have to get the Season 10 Locations List done for THIS VanCon. It's almost done...only 7 more eps, banners to make, and then they can be posted.

At least I managed to change the comm's layout without too much trouble and the color scheme is similar. *glares at LJ & it's constant meddling*

Why is it that I can write brilliant LJ entries when I'm on the toilet but by the time I get to my laptop they're gone? *sigh*
Stupid brain.

Would have gotten to my To-Do List this evening except mom & I needed to catch up on some TV viewing which meant watching on my laptop. *shrugs* I'll hope for better results Thursday (later today).

Broke one of the main rules of moderating an LJ comm: "Never let the members see you panic." Posted a poll (to postively_spn) late the other night expressing my concern over the lack of commenting on the episode pre-show & during-show discussion posts. I was ready for whatever responses I got, but I'm really quite pleased. People have been encouraging, occasionally brutally honest (which I respect), but the best thing is that everyone was TALKING. Members talked about fandom and the show, their viewing habits, dealing with the changes this season, and so many things. Two of them even friended each other due to the discussion. :)

This is the sort of thing I like to see happen, but it hasn't been lately. And I know, LJ is dying a slow death with everyone flocking to Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook - I get it. I do, but there are still some successful comms here and things were looking so good for positively_spn and then they all went downhill. I kept waiting for a comeback, but it wasn't happening. So I feel I was a little justified in my concern, but I'm admittedly slightly a little paranoid about failing with yet another LJ community. I don't have a great track record, after all. About 2 good comms in what, nearly a dozen failed ones? I've lost count. And it doesn't help that I don't have anyone to help me with the comm right now or to bounce ideas off of. So at times I feel like I'm piloting a sinking ship and the other night was when I really felt like I was floundering.

But the poll that could have been a disaster, really opened up some dialog between people and I couldn't be happier about that.

What else? Um, sorry I haven't gotten to that fanfic and Introduction post yet. I'll work on them this weekend? *hopes*

Still plan on getting back to replying to the latest comments here on my journal and at least working back to the beginning of this month. If I get that done I might go back and tackle some of the comments for Feb & March. At least answer peoples questions if they're still relevant.

Really itching to get back to capping SPN episodes. Need to compile a list of which eps I haven't done yet so people can choose which ones they'd like me to do. Everyone will get one episode to choose. Should be fun...and motivating for me. :)

I can't access my positively_spn comm. It keeps going to a WebMoney Transfer site that's all in Russian instead.

Grrrrrr.

Edit: Crisis averted. Not sure what was going on. I suspect more screw-ups thanks to LJ. I mean why would it only effect that one comm (my others loaded just fine)? I've had trouble getting LJ to load recently in Google Chrome, but after a bit it works just fine. And for those of you thinking I had a virus? I'm on a Mac and I installed Avast (I use it on my PC as well & it's wicked good) and it says my system is clean. :)

As many of you may know, I run (w/my currently MIA co-mod womanofletters) positively_spn. We got a big boost of membership when spn_party suddenly decided to close shop the day of the Season 9 premiere. The comm's been growing and thriving fast ever since and I've been very encouraged about it's future.

But today I see a post made to the comm, pimping a new community and some of the plans struck me as a slap in the face.

Depending on how many members we have by tonight, I may post an episode viewing post, but I will definitely make a post later this week where you can link to your episode reaction.

I mourn the departure of spn_party, so I wanted to create a sort of replacement, only I added my own ideas. Should be lots of fun. I especially miss the weekly free-for-all on Sunday nights, so I'll bring that back. Hope to see you there!

Her main idea for the comm, is very cool...a sort of online MOL bunker for doing fanfic research and the like. But the rest of it seems like a copy of what I'm doing with Positively_SPN.

It's as if she's not happy with my comm so she's making one of her own with a lot of the same aspects and advertising it on my comm! Why couldn't she have just said she'd like a "weekly free-for-all on Sunday nights"? I would've found a way to implement it. Maybe she's upset that I didn't choose her for a co-modding position she volunteered for?

I'm all for new comms to LJ for SPN and people taking the initiative when one goes down, but...I thought I'd filled the void left when SPN_Party decided to quit. I guess not.

Am I wrong to feel bad about this? To feel a little miffed and angry?
