Good grief! It's been nearly a year since I've done a Quickies post???

♦ Feel like I pretty much wasted this entire week/weekend. Didn't exercise, didn't do any crafting stuff like I'd planned. Just puttered away online. Bleh. :(

♦ Anyone gonna watch the Oscars? I used to watch them every year, but now I simply can't make time for it. Besides, it's not like I keep up with the current movie scene anymore.

♦ Still terribly behind in watching my TV series. Still have all of H5O, Arrow, & Chicago Fire, half of Fringe, TVD, Parenthood...and I can't remember the rest. Oy. :P

♦ Been working on fanarts from my VanCon 2011 pics and while my photos from that year totally suck, it's at least nice to look at the boys for hours on end and I'm really enjoying myself. Got the Sunday Breakfast pics done and today I'll see if I can start in on the panel ones. I'll begin posting them (in the Daily Fanart posts) starting tomorrow (Monday).

♦ I'm trying to get back to work the SPN Revealed posts. Need to get the caps for 2x12 "Nightshifter" next before I can finish prepping the caps from "Playthings". I am going to make myself work on this project today. I keep putting it off. Darned procrastination.

♦ Haven't capped an episode in weeks. That whole MediaFire fiasco really took the wind out of my capping sails. :( But I'm recovering from that and moving on, so I hope to resume capping episodes this week. Meanwhile, I've still got the bluray caps from 5x03 to sort/delete...and I over-capped it, so that process is gonna suck. Big time. Bleh. I'll do it. Just need to push myself.

♦ Still need to make some new icons to use on my journal. This batch is so old. Where to find the time though? *sigh*
Which reminds me, I still need to post a bunch of icons here...

♦ Got a fun idea planned for unveiling on positively_spn tomorrow that I hope people will enjoy. :)

♦ Think I'll also resume some theme weeks for the Just 'Cause posts starting tomorrow, since I've got some new ones ready to go.

Finally got around to updating my capped episode list. Season 8 is now part of the post and I finished adding in the titles for the end of Season 7 and put in the correct symbols for completely capped episodes & HD capped episodes that have been posted.

I also took a tally of how many episodes from all the seasons I have yet to cap. It numbers a perfect 100 at the moment (or at least until the show returns with the airing of 8x10 on Jan. 16th).

I've got work to do.

♦ Just found where I never posted the Blu-Ray caps for 4x03. Ooops! Will be uploading them to MediaFire tonight and hopefully be posting them in the next day or so.

♦ The caps for 8x04 are nearly ready for posting and the ones for 8x05 are still in the fixing process.

♦ Finished uploading caps from 7x14 thru 7x17 to MediaFire so I'll begin posting these soon as well.

Keep in mind this is the short list. ;)

• Making a list of your Weekly Themes suggestions and comparing it to themes I've already got started.
  
• Will start posting my Sunday VanCon photos starting tomorrow (Monday). That means boys, boys, boys, folks!
  
• Working on a SPN fic that I started way back in the end of 2010. About time I finished it, huh?
  
• Going to cap 8x02 tonight after supper and try to reply to some comments when I take breaks.
  
• Need to cap new SPN title for S8 so I can make animations.
  
• Want to start grabbing caps from next episode for my SPN Revealed series so I can get back to posting those.
  
• Fix a few photos from Puyallup Fair last month so I can post them and the videos I took.
  

That's about it...for now. lol There's always more things to do on the horizon.

Monday was a lazy day with lots of napping in recovery mode of my weekend and then the evening was spent watching Monday night TV and then Gilmore Girls into the early morning.

In other words...

I need to go to bed, but it'll have to be without doing the Daily Fanart, Just 'Cause, and Name That Cap Challenge posts first.

I promise to do them all first thing when I wake up. But right now I need some sleep.

Yes! I'm finally finished...for this year. Three and a half months of work. *flops in a heap*

Just finished up on updating the Google Maps, which you can find linked HERE.

It's not perfect, I'm sure there's mistakes, and I KNOW there's still locations that are missing, but it's as good as I can get it right now. I'm out of time. I'm done. Finito. :P

When in August? I'm aiming for mid-month. Hopefully the 13th or 15th at the latest. Want folks who will be using the list at VanCon to have time to print and plan what places they want to visit.

I went into this summer hiatus with the best of intentions. Plans were made along with promises. I was going to finish capping the remaining Season 7 episodes, continue to cap Seasons 1-5 on BluRay, make and post B&W Fanarts from Season 5, and get back to SPN Revealed for Season 2.

Utter and complete fail. :(

The SPN Locations List has taken up nearly all of my time online. At this point it's still unclear whether it'll be completed by my deadline of August 13th. My volunteers and I are certainly giving it our best, but sometimes it's hard for me to see that light at the end of the tunnel. Meanwhile, I'm trying to keep up with my regular posts, run my comm, and prepare for VanCon. Then there's RL stuff that crops up.

I seem to have lost my capping-fu again and as long as the Locations List (LL) is high priority I can't justify spending 3-5 hours capping an episode. The same can be said for making the fanarts and other projects. I wish there were more hours in the day, but I'm only one person.

Still...I regret making promises I can't fulfill and for letting any of you down.

All I can say, is that once VanCon is over (and I have a few days to recover - lol) that I'll do what I can to resume capping Season 7 and get to these other projects. Luckily, with SPN not returning until October, I'll have a little time.

In working with the LL (Locations List) today, I've come to a few conclusions.

♦ I've been tackling this project backwards. It's a bad habit of mine. Jump in and then later find out I should be doing it differently. I've been working on transferring info. from the LJ posts and putting them into. Google Docs and it should be the other way around.
♦ The LJ posts themselves need to be re-worked. I want the caps bigger (instead of using clickable thumbnails).
♦ I need to use better maps for some locations (replace the ones I have).

And finally, I've come to the realization that this is too big a task for one person anymore. Seven seasons of locations is a huge job. I need help. So I've come to you, my beloved Flist to ask you to spare some of your time and talent on this grand project that benefits so many.

I'll need people who'll be available to work on this project beginning next week (June 11th) until possibly the end of August. I'm aiming to have this done at least a week before VanCon.

Requirements:

:: Some time and dedication.
:: Good copy & pasting skills.
:: Access and knowledge of Google Docs.
:: Have a way I can contact you through Email and/or IM.

Mostly you'll be transferring info. & images from the updated LJ posts to Google Docs. It's not difficult to do, but it is time-consuming. Thankfully with Google Docs it's easy to share documents and collaborate with people. :)

If you have the time to help out, I would greatly appreciate it!

I've been doing some thinking and re-evaluating lately and come to the conclusion that I'm spreading myself a bit too thin in some areas online.

Most specifically, Tumblr & LJ.

No, I'm not going anywhere. I'll still be on both sites, just not in so many places.

My LJ comm, atickettodream, hasn't taken off like I'd hoped and in reality I can't devote the amount of time to it as I'd like (you'll find that's a recurrent theme). As much as I wanted it to work, I think I'm better off posting a movie trailer or clip to my regular LJ every now and then.

I finally plan on shutting down my other filmmaking LJ (for those on my flist who remember it). Meant to do that last year, but it never got done. First I'd like to save the whole thing, just for nostalgia, so I have a copy of what I posted there.

As for the Tumblr side of things, my I Love Vancouver one was a great idea, but again it was hard to keep posting regularly. I think I'll do better just posting the occasional pic of Vancouver to my regular Tumblr: RoadToShambala.

I'll also be shutting down my other Tumblr, SPNOnLocation. Another once-cool idea that really isn't anymore because I can't post to it as often as I should. I think my SPN Locations List here on LJ will stand on it's own as a resource. Again, if I feel the desire to post any of this stuff to Tumblr I'll stick to using my original one.

Some of you on my flist might recall I also started a Tumblr for my photographs. I'll be taking that down as well. It wasn't posted to very often either and I'd rather continue to post pics here on LJ or on my Flickr account.

So there you have it. A thinning of the heard, you might say. :P
I go into these "projects" (for lack of a better word) with lots of enthusiasm and purpose, but RL situations often get in the way. I'm discovering that dealing with one LJ (and one comm) and one Tumblr sounds like plenty.
